Hey there! I've been a part of Akoma Homeschoolers for over six years now. I absolutely love this community and everything it stands for! My son just turned 11 and he's been homeschooled since kindergarten. I try my best to create a fun and engaging learning environment for him. We use the unschool method of homeschooling which allows endless learning opportunities just by participating in daily life. When I'm not homeschooling, I enjoy camping, visiting state parks, and finding cool spots to explore with my son. As a single parent, I make it a priority to emerge my son in cultural diversity and spaces that allow him to be around people who look like him. I love and appreciate Akoma Cares. I feel honored to be able to teach and to watch the children grow. I am very passionate about creating culturally conscious lessons, field trips, and activities. I am looking forward to the growth of Akoma Cares as an organization, and especially, as a community of friends and family. ❤️
